Hyatt Place Dallas/The Colony

Similar comment as provided by another guest. The hotel is at a great location, the staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean. However the WiFi was highly unreliable and not suitable for anyone needing to work remotely. Great for leisure, but difficult for business travelers.

Hotel was in a great location. Staff were friendly, rooms were clean and the price was great for the rooms+breakfast that my group booked. The biggest issues was the WiFi connection being absolutely horrid and it seemed that the cellular signal reception was terrible across the board with my group. Not sure if it has to do with the hotel but when we step near the entrance that’s when the signal worked properly! TVs in the rooms are outdated Also the breakfast experience was not the best. Food and drinks were not being refilled. Some of us didn’t get anything to eat. Coffee was cold and honestly could’ve been done better for basic americano.

Roaches in the pullout sofa bed. And an old sock as well as random trash in the sofa. Sawdust near the bathroom. Absolutely terrible condition of the rooms and then they tried to charge a pet fee when there was no pet, because we were loading the car and checked out at 11:41. Crooks. You can definitely get better for the price.

2.7 stars. This is the lowest I’ve ever rated a Hyatt Place. The only saving grace to this review was the friendly employee who checked me in when I arrived late in the evening. Stayed in Room #110 which is in need of some repair. Carpet felt damp to the touch when I walked around the room. Ceiling had some noticeable and much needed cosmetic areas to tend to. The a/c unit allowed the temperature to be dropped all the way down to 55?! I slept with it set at 65 which was plenty cool. Breakfast in the morning needs some more TLC. Both the sausage patties and links were dried out while the eggs and oatmeal were very watery. Coffee was weak too. Hope that with some attention and focus, this Hyatt Place redeems itself so that other Hyatt loyalists are not disappointed.

I’ve stayed at Hyatt Place Dallas/The Colony every year for 10 years now on an annual trip to Dallas. The location (near Grandscape) is excellent and I’ve never come close to finding a reason to stay somewhere else. Breakfast is acceptable. Nothing particularly special but always well taken care of.
