Plano Home Remodeling did a fantastic job on a full gut renovation—from demo down to the studs, repairing water-damaged framing, installing custom cabinetry, and building a beautiful new shower. The whole project was completed in 5 weeks and 3 days, May 6 to June 12, 2025 — while other companies estimated two to three months. Plano Home Remodeling was fast! Their crew was excellent—skilled, respectful, and tidy. The prep, cleanup, and finishing work (especially the painting!) were all done with care and precision. You can tell they take pride in their work. We got quotes from several companies, but went with PHR because Jamal was incredibly thorough from the start. He took time to walk through everything in detail, provided a transparent itemized quote with fair markup, and even outlined potential issues (like water damage or old plumbing) with estimated costs, so we had no surprises during demo. We’re thrilled with the result—if you’re planning a remodel, definitely worth reaching out to Jamal and Plano Home Remodeling!
Besides being extremely unprofessional and rude when doing work at our home, Jamal would use a deflection strategy where he claimed any work he did increased the sales value of the home. One day I was driving by a home which had a sign up with his company name. I knew no one would be delirious enough to advertise his services. Turns out the property was his and he was flipping it. In case you believe anything he says here is his flip which has been on the market for months that he is unable to sell because of his outstanding "quality" - 2502 Rockhill rd in McKinney. As of this writing it's been on the market for 140 days
I contacted them for an estimate because they seemed to have no complaints from BBB, but they could be a relatively new company. The first appointment time was rescheduled by their staff. On the follow up appointment time, a fellow name Jamal showed up on time. He immediately stated that he could only provide a free estimate for one project in the home, and would charge up to $250 to provide estimates on other items on my wish list. Basically, even though I was proposing to offer them a large job for remodeling my home, I was told that I could only get an estimate for my kitchen. Jamal did not seem to interested from the beginning, and certainly was not professional in his advice or providing a written estimate. He was only willing to give a verbal estimate with no justifiable basis in the calculations. He seemed arrogant and defensive. I will be doing business elsewhere.
Jamal and his team did a fantastic job with our bathroom remodel. It looks spectacular. We are very pleased with the work and responsiveness. Would definitely look to Plano Home Remodeling with future remodeling projects.
Unbeknownst at the time of scheduling my appointment, I was greeting at my front door by Jamal who wanted $500 to do an estimate for remodeling. While trying not to laugh about that, he did a quick once over of the several things that I wanted done and was verbally quoted an absolutely ridiculous amount. No measurements and maybe 7 minutes spent in my house, since remember, he wanted $500 to do a real estimate that I wasn't going to pay for. One thing that stuck out was his quote for $25,000 for engineered flooring to cover roughly 600 sqft? What a joke. I had several other quotes to complete all jobs for less than $15k. Like Roger X said, this guy came off as arrogant and defensive and I couldn't wait to get him out of my house. Sounds to me that the first review is either his friend or fake.
