This is a great park for moms as there is a wide sidewalk the circles the park to get some steps in and still keep an eye on the kids while they play at the park. Huge open fields next to this park for throwing a ball around or flying a kite. The rec center next door has clean bathrooms.
Loved it, we stayed overnight with our JROTC group and had a blast. Very knowledgeable personnel and great exhibits. Nice little Cafe with yummy fried chicken and snacks.
Covered picnic area and well maintained playground make this a favorite area for children and their parents, but the absence of convenient restrooms is a strong negative for our family.
I actually was at the Rec Center right in front of Liberty Park but my boys, John and Scott, now 27 and 21, grew up there, my niece used to go there with them. l and now I have a 4 year old nephew, Jack, and he also loves Liberty Park! They have this old tank on the gravel in the park, the kids love it. I have great memories of my boys and my niece Kayla playing there, with pics of my youngest, Scott, always keeping an eye on her. Not to be depressing, but this place has a special place in my heart thinking about it, as m my niece, when she was 8, passed away. Not at the park or anything to do with it. But think of her especially when driving by. We live close. Wish I could find the pics I was looking for. Here is Jack at 2 enjoying Liberty Park!
The tank was cool, and the facilities next door were great looking.
