I Really hate I have to address this and put a 1 star review for this particular facility. I have been a loyal member of LA Fitness since August of 2021 and have NEVER had an issue with staff or management until today. I walked in as I do everyday and checked in. The Front Desk Associate who I was told today by Luke from corporate she is the New General Manager was pushing a class activity. I do understand that is a part of running a gym as I have owned managed a gym in the past. Membership numbers are important to keep the gym thriving as I know a lot of LA Fitness locations have closed down. The General Manager asked me in a very aggressive manner to sign up for the “Pilates “ class and at first I politely declined. I was then countered with questions as to why I could not attend the FREE Class. I explained to her even though I felt it was unnecessary to explain myself and my personal engagements as to why. I am a runner and do film my runs in the gym. I DO NOT FILM ANY MEMBERS OR ANY STAFF OR ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN MY RUNNING ON THE TREADMILL. She then proceeds to tell me and I quote “ I see you been up in here filming in MY GYM, We had a meeting and you can’t film in here and you need to leave my gym. I told her I need this in writing or sent to me in the message board in the LA Fitness Application to check in. The application is great by the way for updates. She said I am telling you to leave. It escalated to a HUGE seen. Words were exchanged between her ( The New General Manager) and myself she threatened to call LAW ENFORCEMENT ON ME 3 different times during this dialogue. I told her I would take the Pilates class if she took the Pilates class with me and that upset her. She also told me she could help me deactivate my membership and continued to taunt me and questioning my body and giving me dirty looks in my glutes and stomach area and saying goodbye let me help you deactivate your account. Why as a manager of a gym would you treat members this way because they rejected your “poor selling pitch” When I proceeded to leave I did sign up for the class only because I LOVE LA Fitness and I will support them. This location was my safe space but I may consider driving to another location. I don’t appreciate the aggressive selling tactics/ methods and some training in commission gym sales may need to be repaid a visit to the New General Manager to better her skills . I am in disbelief that the general manager threatened to call the police on me today 3 times and neither one of us were in each others personal space or within a distance where anyone could get in physical contact . It was a verbal unnecessary altercation and very unprofessional. I still love LA Fitness and I was told by corporate representative Luke who was a great help that I can continue to film my runs at this particular facility as long as I am following the gym code of conduct. He also said he would be notifying the general manager about our conversation. I appreciate the quick response and I was not on hold very long and he has 10 star customer service Thank you Luke at corporate and also all the members and staff that helped de-escalate the situation. You definitely need to retrain your new general manager or go back to the drawing board and find a someone who knows how to communicate and build positive relationship's with members.

Great experience at LA Fitness! Kristine, the Operations Manager, is professional and does an amazing job keeping everything running smoothly. Tabitha is always friendly and welcoming. Clean facility and excellent staff—Highly recommend!

Went to check out this gym using the free three day pass and I am highly disappointed. This is the worst gym I’ve ever been to. Bathrooms smell just like an animal shelter. The equipment is the worst I have ever seen. I also had to wait at the front desk for over 30 minutes just to be let in. Avoid this la fitness location at all costs. I have had a previous la fitness subscription in the Fort Worth area that was actually good. This location doesn’t compare at all.

Most important employee in any gym. Is the one that's responsible or keeping it clean. They brought in a new guy from another location to clean up plano and it has made a huge difference. Showers, locker rooms, sauna are now spotless.

After being a member of this gym for about 5 years it really pains me to have to cancel my gym membership. Unfortunately this gym is really dirty, out of date, and isn't worth the price anymore. Additionally and the final straw for me, was the change to the guest pass policy. If you're looking to be a new member, on top of everything else I mentioned in this review, this gym get very busy after around 4:30pm weekdays. The rest of the day it isn't too busy. Keep in mind too that if this gym closes (which I suspect it could based on how management isn't doing improvements to this gym anymore), the next nearest gym is Park and Midway, so if you live in northeast Plano, you should consider that. A few years ago, this gym got rid of all the clocks and refused to distribute physical key tags anymore, meaning members had to be completely reliant on technology while at the gym. Many gym members now will sit on equipment on their phones, making it difficult for actual members that want to workout to use equipment. There's not really anything the gym can do about this, so I won't hold it against them in this review, it's just something to consider. This gym is just generally dirty and is not upkept very well. It missed the renovations that happened this summer at many other LA Fitness-es where the basketball courts were turned into additional equipment rooms. This gym was supposed to be moved to a brand new facility further north on Coit near Beacon Square and I got tired of waiting for that to happen and/or renovations at the current facility. The shower area of the men's locker room is grossly unkempt. The soap in the showers smelled like something died in them and there was a rusty fluid on the floor that constantly appeared, even after cleaning. Drain flies are prominent in the shower area as well. The staff is fine, however it's clear they experience frequent turnover, as you'll see new employees every few months, which is disappointing. In addition, the guest pass policy changed for all local LA Fitness-es recently which basically said instead of it being an unlimited guest pass (which I was paying for two and was supposed to be able to bring the same guests as many times as I wanted), you can now bring the same guest only once a month. This was really disappointing and was the final straw for me.
