The activities were great for the kids. Engaging and educational. Team members are nice but rarely smile. The kidzania earned money is worthless which is a missed, valuable, lesson imo. The store they can buy stuff from almost ruins the whole experience. I’d rather the useless junk from Chuck E. Cheese to the useless junk my kids cried about that they didn’t want, even with 200 kidzania bucks they walked away with a paper icecream cone decoration and a couple wooden blocks. Also the times displayed for activities did not coincide with the time the activity started. We would dash over only to find the activity was going to be a 30 minute wait. About 15 activities weren’t open but there was still plenty to do. More food options for the starving adults would be nice too. Muffins, cupcakes, pizza, chips and candy wasn’t it. All in all the kids had fun but there’s LOTS of potential for this to be elevated to a tourist top spot.
We had an amazing experience!! Don’t believe all the negative reviews! We came in from Winston Salem, NC for my son’s 10th birthday. Well worth the trip. We were one of the first ones there when they opened and left around 4:30. My son had such amazing time. Everything was well laid out, staff was so friendly and patient with the kids. There was so much to do and the times posted at each job made it easy to plan each activity. Considering how long we were there and how much my son was able to do the first class tickets were worth the money. I don’t think could give any down points. I expected not all the activities to be open but it was still well staffed. If we didn’t live so far away we would definitely be back!!
Kidzania Dallas was a huge disappointment for the price. We paid $195 for first-class tickets for two kids and two adults, and the experience did not come close to justifying the cost. If tickets are sold by the day, there should be a strict cap on the number of kids allowed. It was extremely overcrowded, with long lines everywhere and not enough staff. I personally saw the same staff member trying to manage two active rooms at once, which explains why several activities never even opened, including the fashion studio and acting academy. We spent 5 hours there, yet the kids only got to experience 5 activities total. Two of those required reservations that we only got because we paid extra for first-class tickets. Even then, the reservations were delayed, and we still had to wait in line for the activity to actually start. One of the most frustrating experiences was the yogurt activity. Our reservation was at 6:30 PM, but we were rushed because the place was closing. We were only there for about 10 minutes, didn’t get the full explanation of how yogurt is made from milk, and the kids were basically just handed pre-made yogurt to fill a cup. That was it. Yes, the concept is fun, but between the crowds, waiting times, lack of staff, rushed activities, and limited hours (only open from 12–7 PM), this place is severely overpriced. For what you pay, the experience should be far better managed.
I love taking my child here, she learns so much, like what the jobs do and how to manage her money. The day prices are high but there's an affordable monthly membership, which is around $30/month. There's all kinds of careers kids can learn and explore like working at a hospital, airport, tv studio, police station, fire station, and more. Sometimes they're short staffed but that depends on the day you go, if it's a holiday, and what time you go. They offer age appropriate experiences and designated schedules for toddlers too. Some involve parents too-- like during the EMS job a parent could pretend to be a patient on scene when the ambulance arrives and the kids learn what they need to help the patient. There's a "parent daycare" upstairs where they can relax and make phone calls if needed. It is safe and secure, they have metal detectors and check bags. Each child and parent gets a bracelet, kids can't leave without it. The bathrooms are accessible and clean. They have elevators. We recommend this, we hope more kidzanias are built in Texas!
If I could leave a negative star I would. This place is literally way too over priced for no reason I highly recommend you don’t come here and go anywhere else. It takes about 30 minutes waiting which something that children hate to do is wait, and just for each line to only take 6-10 kids in each area which is ridiculous then the kids that didn’t get in will have to wait for the next slot. So honestly I feel it’s such a major waste of time. My 3 year old wanted to get on the fire truck and I asked if he could just ride it with his siblings at least the women said no that I can upgrade $40 difference just so he can ride a fire truck. Absolutely insane in my opinion. Most workers were rude and ignored you or wouldn’t speak to you, I just simply feel that it wasn’t worth it at all the experience was horrible. Horrible service, overpriced, waste of time. The only best part was maybe the pictures you could take of this place but besides that nothing else.
